UpStart 2025: IIT Kanpur's Entrepreneurship Cell Kicks Off National Startup Pitching Competition
Entrepreneurship Cell, IIT Kanpur, has kicked off registrations for UpStart 2025, a national pitching competition for Indian startups. The event, set to take place in four major cities and culminate at IIT Kanpur on January 25, 2026, aims to support and empower startups with a slew of opportunities.
UpStart 2025 will focus on emerging sectors such as fintech, health tech, deep tech, Web3, and cybersecurity. Shortlisted startups will benefit from a four-week intensive mentorship program led by industry veterans before showcasing their ideas at the Finals. The event has scaled up from its 2024 edition, which saw over INR 2 crore in on-spot funding and significant media attention. This year, the competition promises prizes worth up to INR 18 lakhs, along with access to incubation, acceleration, mentorship, networking, and media exposure.
The Entrepreneurship Cell, IIT Kanpur, is a student-driven body dedicated to fostering innovation and entrepreneurial thinking among youth. It aims to bridge the gap between student innovators and industry experts, investors, and incubators. The Grand Finale will feature a Startup Expo, Investors & Incubators Conclave, and a Networking Dinner, providing founders with ample opportunities to connect with investors and mentors.
Registrations for UpStart 2025 are open until October 3, 2025. The event, spanning Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, and culminating at IIT Kanpur, promises to be a significant boost for Indian startups, offering them a platform to grow, connect, and secure funding.
