Workshop Tackles 'Toxic Masculinity' in Gahmen
A workshop on 'Toxic Masculinity' took place at the Bürgerzentrum Gahmen on September 26, 2025, led by Mathias Gathof and Jana Müller. The event, attended by 16 participants, aimed to discuss gender roles, power structures, and ways to achieve more equality.
The workshop involved practical exercises that demonstrated how societal influences affect coexistence. Participants identified openness, confronting one's own gender roles, and showing care as central steps for change. Notably, women participants shared numerous strategies against sexual harassment, while men's contributions remained blank, highlighting the need for men to take an active role in overcoming entrenched gender patterns. The director of the Bürgerzentrum Gahmen, Regina Hunschock, announced plans to continue discussing and deepening the topic with new offers.
The 'Toxic Masculinity' workshop at the Bürgerzentrum Gahmen successfully initiated a conversation about gender roles and equality. Further discussions and initiatives are planned to build upon this foundation and encourage active participation from all genders.
